Backsliding
Sunday May 15, 2011
Sunday May 15, 2011
There is no reward for beginning something - only finishing. Beginning provides the chance to finish. Jesus said that it is those who finish the Christian race that will be saved. Backsliding is the thing that happens between beginning and finishing to remove their opportunity to finish. In Matthew 10:22, Jesus said that hatred for being associated with Him (and other things in between zero and that) will attempt to keep us from enduring to the end. Backsliding includes slowing down - relative to where you were before. Slowing down is the beginning of a U turn. Lukewarmness which doesn't look as bad to us as coldness, is detestable to God. Rev 3:15-16, Rev 2:2-5 Certain life Changes are notorious for that triggering backsliding: Marrying, Increase in Prosperity, New Job/position, Travelling to live in a new place, etc. In Acts 19:1, we see Paul arrived in Ephesus and went to look for believers/disciples and found some. Also Luke 4:16, Jesus arrived at a place he used to be but no longer, and went to church and got involved.

Sunday Apr 24, 2011
Sunday Apr 24, 2011
Today is resurrection Sunday. He is risen!! Luke 24:1-12 We learn from Jesus' conquest of death that He has conquered man's greatest enemy, death. There is not a problem in your life too great that He cannot handle - especially the one of our sin account that we are answerable for. Father Forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. From the words of Jesus on the cross, 'Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing,' we learn that we must: - Call on the Father when in distress - Forgive others regardless of the offense. Rom 12:17-19 God promises to take up the case if we leave it to Him. - Make a good excuse for others in order to be able to forgive them genuinely from the heart. Jesus while being crucified excused the people as not knowing what they were doing, and prayed the Father to forgive them.

People struggle in prayer for not knowing what to say, just the same way we'd struggle in the presence of someone we don't know what to say to. In this message, we learn more about the benefits of praying for the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of God brings our spiritual advancement. Revelation of God is seeing something in the divine light. In Acts9:1-7 Saul had a revelation that changed his life 180 degrees. 2 cor 4:3-5 The god of this world blinds people [blocks their revelation] that they might not see the light of the gospel. Spirit of revelation will cause you to begin to dream significant dreams and visions. You begin to experience a word of knowledge

Ephesians Prayer Formula ||

Monday Mar 21, 2011
Formula or plan or pattern takes difficulty out prayer. The LORD Jesus gave the so called Lord's Prayer as a pattern or formula. From Paul's prayer in Eph 1:15-19, we learn to: 1. Be intentionally thankful to the LORD. God's blessing includes both things that are given to have and things that are kept back from us in order to enhance the blessed life. Like in Eden, the avoidance of the tree of knowledge of good and evil was to preserve life. A child too must be raised with permission to do some things while other things are withheld from them. We tend to let things that we think are held back from us or not working steal our gratitude to God. As in Eden, Satan specializes in drawing attention to what is disallowed and highlights and offers it as solution to our so called problems. 2. Make mention of others in prayers 3. Pray for the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of God.

Sunday Mar 13, 2011
With formula and a plan - like a recipe, any thing we attempt becomes easier to do. A recipe make someone who has never cooked before potentially a great cook just by following instruction. Many people cite the reason they don't pray much as, 'they do not know what to say.' If you will learn from these insights, you will eliminate this excuse for good. It is important that we do what has to be done to spend a long time praying because as we spend more time with God, gradually we become like Him and more, as the Bible commands us to. As you develop the habit if prayer, you will find it pleasurable to spend time in the presence of God. Ephesians Prayer Formula - From Eph 1:15- on 1. Giving thanks - Don't fall for the temptation to overlook the things that many things are working out and focus on what is working out.
